CAT EXAM 2O16
Common Admission Test is a computer based
standardized test which is jointly conducted by the IIMS with the technical
support of TCS is a gateway to get admission into post-graduate management
programmes in 19 IIMS and over 150 B Schools.CAT is conducted once a year,
usually in the month of November and December. The Common Admission Test
assesses a candidate on the basis of Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation,
Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. This year CAT 2016
is being conducted on December 4, 2016 in two sessions i.e morning and evening.
As compared to CAT 2015, over 2.5 lakhs applications are being expected in CAT 2016.

Every year certain changes are brought in
the CAT Exam Pattern.CAT
2016 consists of 3 sections and it covers topics from Mathematics, English
Language, and Logical Reasoning.

1.
CAT 2016 will have both MCQ and
non MCQ type questions.
2.
For each correct answer a
candidate will score 3 marks.
3.
For wrong answer you will
deduct -1.
4.
Total paper will contain 100
questions.
5.
A candidate will be allotted exactly
60 minutes for attempting each section.
6.
No mark will be deducted for
unattempted question.

2016 SYLLABUS
To crack the test, it is the most important
part to be noted down. Generally, it includes Verbal Ability, Quant Ability,
Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation.
CAT Verbal Ability
Reading comprehension, verbal reasoning,
syllogisms, analogies, antonyms and synonyms, fill in the blanks, sentence
correction and idioms, etc.
CAT Quant Ability
Number system, geometry, trigonometry,
probability, permutation, combination, algebra, time and work, mensuration,
profit and loss, percentage, average sums, quadratic and linear equations, etc.
CAT Data Interpretation
Interpretation and analysis of data based
on text, tables, graphs, charts, Venn diagrams, etc.
CAT Logical Reasoning
Clocks, calendars, blood relations, logical
sequence, assumption, seating arrangement, linear and matrix arrangement,
assumption, conclusion, etc.
